GUCCI RESORT 2019 COLLECTION, IT WASN'T ALL ABOUT THE CLOTHES

June 04, 2018
We took a look beyond the incredible gothic-inspired clothing, and the flaming set only to discover the wonderful hair styling created by mastermind Paul Hanlon.

As a BOF Top 500, Hanlon may be familiar to the fashion savvy, but we thought the 19th-century hairdos caught your attention too and wanted to give you an introduction into who Paul Hanlon actually is.

Paul first worked in a local salon but soon moved to London with his sights set on the fashion industry. His ambition, talent, and technical training gave him a position as a rising star. Today he works with some of the most influential photographers in the fashion industry such as Craig McDean, Mert and Marcus, Nicolas Ghesquire, and many more. He has created fantastic catwalk looks for the likes of Chloé, Proenza Schouler and Calvin Klein, and been the hair stylist for covers such as Vogue Paris, American Vogue, and practically every big fashion publication on the planet.

So let’s talk about the Gucci Resort 2019 hair. Models walked the runway with a barrage of tight barrel curls worked into Marie Antoinette-esque poufs and marcel-meets-art-school coils that were sometimes softened by bangs or brushed to romantically frizzy perfection. Hanlon’s creativity was shown in the incredible detail. See for yourself below.
